Aims and Objectives of UGC-MMTTC

  • To empower the faculty members as lifelong learners through continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Improving the quality of Education at all levels by infusing quality and excellence in college and university teachers, students and teaching learning.
  • Developing the utmost human potential, creating an equitable and just society and promoting national development.
  • To ensure holistic development of the teachers and learners with inculcation of ethics and human values enshrined in Indian culture and familiarize them with the Indian Knowledge System (Bhartiya Gyan Parampara).

In order to fulfil the above objectives, the MMTTC, CUHP plan to organise three different types of in-service faculty training programmes. Faculty Induction Programmes (FIPs), Refresher Courses (RCs), and Short-Term Programmes (STPs)/Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) and NEP Orientation & Sensitization Programmes. The FIPs are of 4-weeks duration, RCs in Core & Interdisciplinary subjects are of 2-weeks duration, STPs/FDPs are of 1-week duration and NEP Orientation & Sensitization Programmes are of 8 days duration conducted in two weeks’ featuring two live online sessions (90 minutes each)

Objectives of Faculty Induction Programme (FIP):

  • To familiarize the faculty members with curriculum development, innovative teaching-learning methodologies, assessment and evaluation techniques and learner development.
  • To provide training for digital and ICT enabled teaching learning
  • To make the faculty aware about the service, leave and pension rules and regulations
  • Sensitize the College and University teachers about the linkages between education and society.
  • Help teachers acquire/sharpen basic skills of teaching to promote effective teaching-learning processes in the classroom.

Objectives of Refresher Courses (RCs):

  • To enhance the effectiveness of teaching at higher education institutions (HEIs) by developing the necessary pedagogical skills
  • To help college and university teachers remain updated with the developments in their respective subject/fields
  • To enable the faculty members to understand the multi-disciplinary/Interdisciplinary/Transdisciplinary/Cross disciplinary connections of their core subject
  • To prepare faculty members to undertake quality research and propel academic activities in tune with the changing dynamics of the 21st century.

Objectives of Short-Term Programmes (STPs)/Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs):

This category of programmes includes specialized STPs/FDPs for Academic and Administrative officers of Indian universities. Subject matter includes sessions on Specific Learning Disabilities, Promoting Positive Mental Health, Resilience & Wellbeing and Entrepreneurship. STPs/ FDPs are also being organised on Development of MOOCs, Learning Management Systems, ICT application in assessment and evaluation, Blended learning, e-content development, Open Education Resources, etc.

Objectives of NEP Orientation & Sensitization:

To organise online programmes for faculty members of universities and colleges along with Pd.D. research scholars and provide sensitization and orientation on eight selected themes of NEP 2020.
